My name is Deb Lindner. These days I run a highly successful Home Staging business based in Brisbane, Australia.
But I haven’t always done this.
I spent 15 years in the corporate world, working with multi-national clients and coping with the stress of working to tight deadlines every day. Sometimes it felt as though I was surviving, not living – you know, commuting to working in the madness that is peak hour traffic, doing the whole 9-5 thing, being too exhausted to really enjoy any quality time with my family and friends.
And I really didn’t feel as though I was in control of my own life! Even though I worked hard every day, and produced great results, I never got paid any extra! My salary was my salary… I was definitely on the treadmill.
Then I quit the corporate world to start a family, and I really loved spending time with my kids! So when it came time for me to go back to work, I was just dreading it. (I had had a taste of freedom!) I decided the treadmill was simply not an option and I was going to find a better way!

This business had to fit in around my family life. I wanted to be in control of my own destiny! I wanted to decide when I worked, and for how long…

I LOVE beautiful homes – and decorating! That was always my hobby…
Over the past few years we moved house several times and I had always ‘styled’ my own homes before selling them. I had achieved amazing sales results 6 times! Without knowing what it was called (I had never heard of ‘Home Staging’ back then), I would hire furniture, de-clutter rooms, paint a single wall here or there, and present the home so well that it always sold really fast, and for a great price!
At first my husband protested about me “wasting money” on “decorating that no-one will notice”, but then he noticed the pattern too.
